A Thoughtful Tuesday Morning

Good Morning, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!

A couple of nights ago, we watched the movie, 'Doc Halliday' starring Michael J. Fox as a young doctor. (I like Michael Fox; and he was 'perfect' for the role). He was on route to a major job interview in Los Angeles; however, unfortunately, he was detained, due to a car accident, whereby his red sports car was quite damaged. He ended up being driven to a small nearby town; and it was as if he was a 'prisoner'; ie Credit cards not accepted etc. He did not have enough cash on him; ie to pay for the car repairs, so he had no choice but to remain for a few days, until he received a wire transfer, to take care of the various expenses.

It was a small scenic town (Graven?) in South Carolina; and things were done and run 'differently'. Everything, was at a slow pace; almost like a time warp; and to boot, everybody knew your tid business. To make a long story short, because of his training as a doctor, he was needed to 'pitch in' for a few medical 'emergencies'. He even delivered a baby girl; and that miracle, as well as meeting his true love, he ultimately chose to settle down in the town; thus 'chucking' the fast pace of a hectic frenzy of a city life. What also touched me was the 'old doc' (whose life Doc Halliday saved; from a heart attack); and him sharing with the 'new doc', tales of the many babies he had brought into the world, during his practice as the 'town doctor'.

The young doctor experienced some 'Epifanies'; and / or perhaps I did as well. It was as if his destiny happened right there; that he could be of wonderful use to others, and be a part of a meaningful community. My apologies, if I am not explaining this as well; save that it is an entertaining and fun movie to see! Methinks, the movie started off a bit slow, however, it grew on me. It is quite 'real' with all the various town's personalities, interwoven as in a tightly knit little community, rich with history. There are also some 'eccentrics'; however, one appreciates them! LOL! The movie is 'down to earth'; and I soon forgot about all our various bittid challenges in the outside world!

Yesterday evening, made up a tasty batch of banana raisin muffins; as we had some ripe bananas; and should you wish the recipe, please feel free to refer to my post of Oct 21st. Great with a cup of coffee!

Also, here is a tidbitz recipe for 'Peanut Butter Cookies' (from 'Food that Really Schmecks', by Edna Staebler). I may have shared this delicious recipe in an earlier post; however, here it is regardless. Hope you enjoy; and if you are a 'peanut butter fan'; you will love these! As Edna Staebler says, "Kids love these---and so do I."

1/2 c butter
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c white sugar
1/2 c peanut butter
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
1 1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla

Mix in the order given. Flatten teaspoonfuls of dough on greased cookie sheets, or make into rolls, chill and slice. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.

As a tidbit, this particular cook book, as well as her second book, 'More Food that Really Schmecks' have mouthwatering recipes; as well as being economical and very easy to make!

Tidbit - Surrender your trust to Him; and Let Him Provide your needs; as per His Purpose and according to His Will, and in His Time. While you wait PATIENTLY, 'enjoy!' Apart from your work, appreciate some tid R & R. - Be it baking, cooking, tidying your home, a hobby, reading, watching movies, exercise, whatever gives you a bit of joy and a peace.

Bittid - Appreciate 'down to earth', genuine people. Have compassion and empathy for others; and radiate a 'generosity of spirit' to all those you meet. A genuine and warm smile costs you nothing; and yet, it may be a 'ray of light' to someone else. You can help uplift others, by your kindness and contagious enthusiasm! I love the above photo image!

Have a full day lined up; we are hopeful of 'good tidbitz news' this afternoon! It is an 'undecided' Fall day, unsettling 'iffy' weather; a mix of blue skies, along with dark threatening clouds, and a feisty wind. However, thought I would share this settling bittidz cookie recipe, as it is a 'keeper'.

Until a tid later; when there is a bit more to share!

God Bless.
