'Look on the bright side of things'

Good Morning, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!

My apologies for not writing a post yesterday. I was a bit under the weather. This tid bug is still hanging on; and I felt, it was best to just simply rest.

Should say too, that we have postponed our vacation to Zihua in December (of course we would be home for Christmas!). Perhaps just as well; as it involves renewing our passports, arranging plane tickets, finding a dog / house sitter, the tidbitz works; and it is during the busy Christmas season. Primarily, Alan's knee is needing asap surgery; and he is on the top priority 'wait list'; and if one is going to go on a holiday, best not to be hobbling about in agony and doing more damage. Plus, we do a fair amount of walking; so perhaps this is 'better laid plans of mice and men'. The Spring of 2009 appears to be more promising; and perhaps the current financial crisis will have stabilized a bittidz. In a way, am relieved not to be away at this festive time of year; as I really enjoy spending Christmas at home! I have always felt this way; goes back to 'childhood days'.

We have a 'tree' (very real looking 'Charlie Brown Tree') that we found in the complex's garbage last Spring; and it looks fabulous outside on our patio against the brick background of our house. However it will be converted to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, in our front hall! (We only have one hall! LOL!). Write about a 'seasonal' tree with fun uses! Being home for Christmas gives me a wonderful excuse to decorate and appreciate the 'whole 9 yards' of a festive house! We have some old Christmas decorations; plus, I will be a 'Cold Cook' and do a bittid of baking!(You can refer to my posts on 'Cold Cooks and Hot Cooks', if you wish). We moved here in the summer of 2006, had a Christmas Party in 2007, and in 2008, we were at Zihua until Dec 22nd. It was pretty tight timing; thus no tree or much in the way of decorations! When we had our party in 2007, there was not enough room to even have a tree and decorations; so this year will be extra 'special' to us.

Also, with all the 'trials and tribulations' around the globe, methinks this Christmas will be a very meaningful one to us all. Families coming together, cooking up a turkey (or whatever works), 'pitching in' with potluck dishes, and enjoying all the tidbit trimmings, is something to joyfully look forward to and embrace 100%, regardless of one's meagre circumstances! Celebrating the Birth of Jesus Christ, being genuinely Thankful and appreciative for all our Blessings is enough! In a tid, we are going to enjoy our Christmas this year and make the bit best of everything!

Speaking of 'treasures' found in the garbage, we also came across a discarded (perfectly fine, well, with a bit of TLC tender loving care), a wood chest of shelves. At the tid moment, it is outside; however, once we tackle our garage clutter, (stuff from my parents that we have not unpacked, our stuff still in storage, etc) we will add the chest to the mix, as it will be most useful for housing tools etc.

Also, today is a huge day in the United States of America; as a new President and Vice President will be elected by tonight! From watching the CNN T.V. and other tid stations, (have not felt like reading, as the eyes are a bit buggy), it looks as if the voting turnout is good, inasmuch as people want a say in their Nation, by exercising their right to VOTE! If you wish, you can refer to my bittids in posts of Oct 25th and the 30th. In the Oct 30th post, it is 'Alan's tidbits'.

Tidbit - Choose to make the best of everything; your life will be that much more joyful and have a positive direction! Do your best, 'to look on the bright side of things!' If you have burdens (and who doesn't?), turn them over to Him! You will feel much better! 'Praise Him In ALL Things'.

Bittid - 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder'. ie little 'found treasures!'

May be back later today; and hopefully, the above tidbitz and bittidz are of good cheer and encouragement to you! Love the above humorous photo image, that I have enjoyed often portraying, in my various posts from approx Feb / mid Mar 2007 to recent. We have that particular tidbitz plate; and I always enjoy a bittidz laugh, when I pass by it, which is everyday!

God Bless.
