Thankful for Easter!

Good Afternoon, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world.

Here is wishing you all a Happy Easter celebration. We have many tidbit Blessings to be thankful for.

As per my earlier bittid post re: our 'turkey' Blessings, we cooked up and enjoyed an Easter dinner on Good Friday and delicious 'leftovers' ever since! Truly, it was the nicest turkey dinner that Alan and I have made together since we have been married to each other. We appreciated our friends 'generosity of spirit' who gave us the tender butter ball turkey. Alan made his wonderful Socttish oatmeal stuffing (a recipe from his beloved Mum), his scrumptious mashed potates, brussel sprouts, and my homemade gravy. The cranberries were not available; so we had whole berries from the tin; and they worked out well. However, I do prefer the packaged berries that one uses to make the cranberry sauce.

We set a good table; utilizing appreciatively a bittidz of this and a tidbitz of that. ie. My parents' dinner knives and forks, my Norwegian grandmother's dessert forks and my aunt's dessert spoons. Pressed into service, my Mum's old china and our crystal. Old green and white placemats (holes and all) from my Mum; and the red wine from our friends (homemade wine). We bought a pumpkin pie and vanilla ice cream on sale; and the whole evening and celebration was awesome. We lit the candles and listened to Diana Krall's music; and we gave thanks for our Blessings; and that Jesus Christ died for our sins and 'He IS the Way, the Truth, and the Life.'

This particular Easter has been much more meaningful to us; however, perhaps more to me, because there is more 'wheat being separated from the chaff' (as per my recent posts). Alan and I are appreciative to live by His Will, Purpose and Plan. We still do not know what is going to happen as to relocation etc; but we have surrendered to His Will. We know that our Father knows best and we are living quite literally on fumes, but in FAITH and TRUST in Him. Can be very challenging to live in 'unseen Faith,' but truly, that is what we are doing day by day. He IS our Refuge and Strength. Also, I have been embracing the Bible; reading the New Testament. I also appreciate the Old Testament. ie The Psalms have also been a great comfort to me. Christ is the Living Word! This particular Easter has been an extra special one, and a real major ephifany to me.

Yesterday, we had the great experience of meeting up with some Chinese Baptists, who were handing out fliers for their church. I noticed that the woman had a 'glow' and such a beautiful kind smile; and I told her so. We will be attending their Church sometime; as there are services both in Chinese and English; and we feel they are genuine with their message of Christ. Also, the church is not too far from where we live.

Many things occured yesterday; as in joyful uplifts to others. In fact, it was as if I was being 'directed' (by the Holy Spirit!) to being extremely jubilant and enthusiastic! To the point, where people were coming up to me; and as Alan says, as Christ says, 'You shall be known by whom you are.'

Tidbit - When you focus upon encouragement and 'random acts of kindness to others' (a kind word, deed, or even a smile), your own problems take a tid hike and / or a back seat. It is better to give than to receive.

Last night, we watched the movie, 'The Ten Commandments.' Wow! What a fantastic depiction! The more I view it, the more I 'see' (discern) and learn! Also, this morning, I gratefully watched 'Hour of Power', (the Schullers); 'World Impact MInistries' (Peter Youngren), and 'Living Truth' (Charles Price). Many thanks to these and other International ministries who give so graciously of their time and insights to help spread 'the message of the Good News.'

Alan right now is making soup from the turkey bones. We will be giving a bit away to the 'street people'; as well as to some of our neighbours. We are thankful for the food that was provided to us and that we can share likewise.

Bittid - 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.' Major truth!

Tonight is Game Six in the Hockey play-off series between the Blackhawks and the Canucks. We are Prayful that our Canucks will play as they did in the first three games; as it would 'appear' that they have 'backed off;' perhaps being very 'tentative' and allowing too much space in their checking. May they beat adversity and play their own game, utilizing their God given strengths. With all penalty calls, may the calls for both teams, be honourable! Games should be won or lost with integrity; not by 'phantom' penalities etc.

The pictures are of Alan's Mum's beautiful purple vase. Alan picked us some more 'fallen daffodils' today (rain today; total contrast to yesterday's sunny and warm temps); and we want to honour her memory as well as our parents and others, whom we hold dear, who have passed away. We know they are in a good place. The combination of these yellow and white flowers in this vase look so majestic and perfect for Easter.

Peace and God Bless.
