Glad to be home!

Good Evening, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!

We are now home; and as you know, there is 'no place like home!' We left early on Saturday morning for Pasley and it was a rejuvenating R & R for a bittid of two days. We did experience rain; but it was brief; save for at night - ie last night in particular, when there was a huge storm of winds of over 50 miles per hour! Thought for a moment, the sleeping house was going to 'take off'. The temperatures were cool; and thank goodness for a tidbit fireplace in the bedroom. Alan lit the fire early in the evenings and the room was toasty warm for most of the 2 nights. We (Alan) managed to get a few 'fall' projects accomplished. The 'tree faller' had been over and we counted 11 trees that he took down; as they were a danger to the buildings; given the fierce storms that we have had, within the last couple of years. Also, the gas fitter / plumber was over to give us his insight for future plumbing / propane needs. So, all in all, it was a very good weekend; Saturday to Monday! LOL!

We have a full week coming up; so this was a perfect way to recharge our batteries. Whilst at Pasley, we enjoyed 'gourmet' meals (LOL!) that were 'creations' of whatever was in the larder, along with the food we brought with us. And a good bottle of red wine (South African - Two Oceans) was an excellent choice for both evening meals. On the Saturday night, we lit a cosy fire in the main house; and it brought back wonderful memories of many a night, spent in front of a warm fire etc. We had great conversations, the light of the fire and a large flickering candle was awesome, and of course the wine was key too!

Tidbit - We like to leave Pasley (or wherever), in the same state or better, than we we generally find it. ie Leaving a place cleaner than you find it, always makes you feel good, doesn't it? 'Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you', is such a true message. Alan left the fireplace 'ship shape' - invitingly ready for my brother, who will be there next weekend. We will be going back for our Canadian Thanksgiving, and that will be so awesome! It is beautiful up there, at that time of year; with Autumn and all its splendid colours.

Bittid - When you have some time away, take the time to appreciate being away. It is amazing how issues become easier to deal with; ie less petty and thus more clear. Keeping things simple is good.

Have to go now to unpack and prepare dinner. Love the above photo; it is of a glorious sunset at Pasley. (You can refer to the posts of July (28th) and also of mid to end August, if you wish re: actual Pasley photos).

Good Night and God Bless.
