Parliament is Prorogued!

Good Morning, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!

This is just a quick tidbit; hope to be back later today.

Thank goodness, our Governor General has 'prorogued' (suspended) Parliament this morning! Parliament will reopen on January 26/09. Let 'cooler heads prevail'.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his Conservatives ARE the government elected by Canadians, to represent them. I sense there is a lot of 'sour grapes', power struggles (and within their own ranks!) and all about 'me me me'. 'They' (the 'coalition') may state they are interested in 'democracy' and in preserving the 'well being' of Canadians. If that were really so, WHY and TRULY WHY are they doing this now? Stop and think about it!

As per my tid post yesterday re: 'The three want to be's'; (in Alan's eloquent words expressing our concerns as part of the Canadian mix), please re visit it for a bit of background! Also in this morning's post, Alan gives his bittid comments (in the last 2 paragraphs), which sums things up!

Am listening to the 'speeches' by the 'coalition leaders'; and what a ruinous and world disaster should there ever be a 'coalition' running our country! 'Running' it into a huge deficit and into the ground, and no tangible hope of a 'recovery' plan. I shudder to even think about it! .

I believe there are many of us Canadians (even the ones that did not vote in the last election; or even some of those who voted non Conservative) are oppposed to a 'coaltion', because of the sheer sbsurdity!

We are Conservatives; you have probably gathered that! Our Prime Minister has the best grasp on the ecomony; as observed already around the world; however, perhaps he is also learning that being a little less confrontational with the other parties, might ease some of the present uproar.

As a Canadian, I feel that ALL the party leaders need to genuinely sit down and tackle what is BEST FOR THE COUNTRY; NOT for their political agendae! Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his Conservatives are clearly the best to govern our country; as witnessed by the October 14/08 Election; giving him and his party the democratic nod! Apart from 'not having the confidence of the House' and other 'internal' political tactics, I genuinely believe that the MAJORITY of Canadians do NOT want a 'coalition' government! In the name of Democracy, PM Stephen Harper and his Conservatives were / are duly elected; let them GET ON with it!

"Lest we forget the Conservatives have the most elected MPs in ALL regions of the country and the broadest base support of ALL parties. The Liberals support it primarily in Ontario, with a total of 77 MPs; the NDP at 37. This does not make them a National Party! The Bloc is exclusively in Quebec with 50 seats. Again, all parties endorsed the Throne Speech and this is indicative because of the merit of the contents. This being the case, they should constructively support the party that has the most support given to them by the Canadian people in the October election.

Let's face it. WHO is the most Ministerial? Dion, we doubt it! Layton, no way! Douceppe, non. Need we say more?"

God Bless.
