Another day of enlightenment!

Good Evening, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!

Wow! Where do I begin?

Firstly, we went to the event last night; and we are glad we did! We went with open hearts and a 'Spirit of Generosity'; and 'things (thorns) just fell by the wayside'. I ended up sharing about 'Answer to Prayer' (see post of June 10/08 etc for a bit of background) and basically said that 'I was ready'; and that I would lay down all my stubborness and will to Him; and that it was ALL up to Him; that whatever was meant to be; fine. My life changed after that Prayer; and little did I know at the time, just how powerful a Prayer that was!

Last night, I had an unexpected 'audience' of quite a few people; and one of them in particular, was practically 'hanging on every word' I uttered! Methinks, that person and some others may have been filled with a new found confidence and hope. Can not count all the hugs I received; but it sure felt nice; and it was an evening of sincere 'Christmas Cheer'. I also shared with them that during these trying times, we should just appreciate 'getting back to the basics', and making the best of everything. So, who knows? Save that, I think that some of those, who had treated me poorly in the past, did a complete 'switch'; almost as if beseeching me for forgiveness. (I had already forgiven them, some time ago). Genuine hugs, gentle words, a listening ear, perhaps 'touched their hearts' and put a smile on their faces.

This am I gleefully watched the Vision Channel. A perfect morning to stay put in our warm bed. Looking out our window, the outdoors was thick with fog, then followed by heavy rains, harsh winds, and dark clouds; and ultimately bright sunshine, with patches of blue skies. Meanwhile extra special to enjoy the splashes of colour from our upstairs balcony planters. ie Our pink and red geraniums still thriving; along with some new blooms, as well as a foliage of healthy green leaves!

On 'Hour of Power', Dr. Robert Schuller had some wonderful guests! ie Rebecca St James, a singer and an author. She wrote the book, 'Wait for me too'. She has been very helpful with Devotionals and 'Purity' issues; and she speaks straight from the heart. Best to tune into 'Hour of Power' for further info! Also, Renee Bondi sang one of the songs, featured in 'The Glory of Christmas'. Her story is also an interesting one to read about, if you think you have challenges! Very heartwarming! Dr. Schuller also made reference to one of the world's foremost photographers, Ken Duncan, (he was a guest last week) and how masterfully he had tied in his pictures with the daily inspirational book, 'Power for Life' (written by Dr. Schuller). Methinks, that would make a beautiful gift; particularly at this time of year! (hourofpower.org or 1-800-549-6177).

Senior Pastor Bill Hybles (of Willow Creek Church, Chicago, Illinois), was also a guest on 'Hour of Power' today; and he was awesome in his message on the economic 'Downturn', as well as his story of helping a man in dire need, many years ago. Once again, I recommend you read about him and his illuminating teachings; as you may discover that your problems are a lot less than others. It is having the Faith and the Trust in Him to Provide; and 'less is sometimes more'; or you have 'enough'; - thus 'contentment can set you free'. 'Best to anticipate His Full Blessing and believe that He will see you through the storm.' He suggested to 'make the committment; to not cave way to Fear; and not to fall into the abyss of discouragement!'

A personal Tidbit - Pastor Bill Hyble was just who I needed to hear today; because for the last short while, I have been experiencing some anxiety with all these uncertain times. We have had a need too, for a bit of a helping hand; and only for the short term. The banks have been NO help; as they are totally fearful, with all the fear mongering scouring this earth. We have asked a handful of people for their help; and it has been, indeed, a learning experience; because, it was hard for me earlier to comprehend and digest their negative responses.

However, no matter now; because this ENCOURAGES us to RELY all the more upon Him and His Resources; that He will Guide us through these turbulent times. Will add, that if it were the 'other way around'; meaning if we had a tid of 'disposable' income, we are of the same 'no brainer mindset' as Pastor Bill Hyble and his wife. Therefore, what really hit home to me, even again today, is that we must simply leave it completely ALL to Him to Provide Solutions. Also, Pastor Bill Hyble shared that we should enjoy our lives; and to always give Him Thanksgiving; not just reserving it for after He has met our needs etc. Very true! "Praise Him In ALL Things".

On 'Enjoying Everyday Life', Joyce Meyer offers such inspiring messages! Joyce is sharing that we get 'really good' at forgiveness; make a 'choice' to Trust God, and we will be a happier person. She has some wonderful resources to share, ie 'Do Yourself a Favour, and Forgive' in CD's; and one of her books, '100 Ways to Simplify Your Life'. Also you can refer to a couple of Bible passages - Matthew 5:8 & Proverbs 4:23, that were included in today's teachings. To benefit you most and gain a better understanding, please feel free to tune into her programs, as she gives wonderful clarity and encouragement.

Another personal bittid - Reading and / or revisiting the Bible, particularly during these tougher times, can provide one with a daily continual source of comfort, strength, and understanding. "Seek and Ye Shall Find". (I love the above photo image!). The Bible is extremely uplifting; and if you are feeling 'downcast', just turn to the Bible; and you will feel so much better! I have been doing that - A LOT!

On 'Living Truth', Charles Price shared invaluable lessons; ie about FORGIVENESS. He includes some of the Bible's passages; so if you read those - ie checking out his website, you will enjoy the enlightening info for yourselves. I am merely a 'blogpiece', to help guide you to his teachings and that of the others, so that your life may become a better one! I am appreciative of their wonderful teachings; because on any given day, their insights are 'right on!'

The gist of what methinks Charles Price said, is that the prime directive of a Christian is to take the lessons and examples given by Christ, and introduce them into our own lives. He spoke of the need for us to understand that He Came to Forgive, Once and for All; and that He instructed us to do likewise. We must forgive those that have hurt us and or of any ilk along these lines. In the doing of the forgiving, Christ removes that thorn from within us; and that at the same time, He exorts us to also Pray for those that we have forgiven. If we do this, we are able to share the message of the Good News of the Grace of the Gift He has offered. If we share with those that have hurt us or trespassed against us, it may stimulate them to inquire of Christ, or create an epiphany in their lives. 'Lest we forget', He has asked us to "Seek and Ye Shall Find", and that "He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life".

One of the Bible passages included today, from 'Living Truth', is from Matthew 18:23-35. A very powerful message!

Am saying a big 'Thank you' to 'Hour of Power', 'Enjoying Everyday Life', and to 'Living Truth' for providing myself, Alan, and so many people around the world, with the Blessed opportunity to learn more and to genuinely accept Him into their hearts. Plus, for other inspirational programs as well. I am also grateful for Alan's eloquent words in paragraph #13, re" "The gist...to the Life" as that helps to better sum up Charles Price's excellent teachings. Once again, do yourselves a service, and check into 'Living Truth' at www.livingtruth.ca.

Alan is preparing 'homemade' soup tonight; very economical and also very good to the taste. Plus our house is filled with a delicious mixed aroma of veggies, potatoes, meat, herbs, etc. If you wish, the recipe for 'Al's Soup', you can refer to my post of Sept 28/08.

Am going to go now; however, here is wishing you Peace and Good Cheer.

Good Night and God Bless.
