Our 2 "puppies" - "Blue", is the Blue Heeler; and "Rocky" (Rockford) is "Rocky!"

Our current dog is Blue; 2.8 months old. Our other dog, Rocky, passed away in Oct/04; at age 12 yrs.

Blue, is a cross between a Blue Heeler (Australian cattle dog) and an Australian Sheep Dog. He looks more like a Blue Heeler, than a Sheep Dog; although he "herds", nips, pulls, is very playful, and athletically active. Blue Heelers are also highly intelligent and always on the alert.

"Rocky", on the other hand, was a real ham; loved by all.(a Mr."T.V." personality) He knew NO fear; and was nicknamed,"Mr. Mafiaoso" at "Camp" Waggers. Rocky loved "Camp" Waggers; he immediately established himself as "numero uno" - both over large dogs and the tid bit sized ones. He was a cross between a Besenge (of African roots; a small games hunter dog) and a Bull Terrier.

Both dogs came from other homes before we brought them into our household. Rocky was about 5 or 6 months old; and Blue was about 3.5 months old. Their earlier homes were not the greatest; so we are glad that the dogs came into our lives. Pets provide such joy, comic relief, laughter, etc; as only dog lovers and pet owners would know.

Tidbit - Dogs are great family members. If they are treated well, they will treat you well. Both of our dogs thought they were people; particularly Rocky; who literally, would sit up on a chair, at a place set, at the table for him! There would be his bowl! He would lounge about on the sofas; whereas Blue, has not been allowed that luxury, since Day 1 in our home. The first dog was not disciplined in his early life.

They say, "You can not teach an old dog, new tricks". Well, Alan was able to illustrate to Rocky otherwise; and you know, those 2 were great buddies. We miss our Rocky; however, we can be thankful for the 12 years we enjoyed with him. Blue, has been a wonderful companion throughout for us; and is also a great dog. He is coming into his own.

Another tidbit - You can learn a lot from dogs. They actually TEACH you and encourage character building and appreciation. Even when there are "challenges" with them; from time to time. LOL!

All tuckered out!

Have to admit, that I am all tuckered out! Just like a tid bit of a pup!

Having been away for 11 days, we are a bit tid weary; our dog, Blue, included. He was at "Camp" Waggers; and I think he is resting up from the different doggie routine; whereas we are needing another vacation! LOL! We are working on various projects; and when you have taken a wee bit of a "tidbitacle", there are tids of things to get caught up on. Regardless, the timing for our holiday was right on!

Tidbit - Appreciate it, when your body is insisting that you go to sleep. Listen to your body's signals.

Am going to have a good night's rest, to be re energized for tomorrow's blog! LOL! Also, it is pouring with rain out; so it is the perfect night to just drift off to Never Never Land.

Another tidbit - Be thankful for whatever you have; and Praise Him in All Things. Then shut your eyes. You will be surprised at how wonderful a sleep you will have! You just feel "good".

The White Dove Symbolizes Peace!

What an exhilerating day! Started early! Took our "puppy" for his morning walk; and it felt soooooo good to breathe in the cool fresh air! Spring is here! We were on vacation from the 21st of March; and returned in the tiddy bitty hours of the 2nd of April. Amazingly awesome, how many buds and blooms have evolved during our absentia!

We were playing a tid bit of "catch up" in the am; and then we went out to pick up Alan's Mum for a lunch back at our home. Well, there was a bit of a tid of a surprise in store for all of us! Alan's Dad joined us today. Alan and his father have not seen or spoken for 4 years. Very sad set of circumstances.
Apparently, the father wanted to be included in the outing. The interesting thing is, that he knows he "wronged" my husband; and thus, he wanted to make a tid of a reconciliation.

Both parents are not well. His mother has a terminal rare cancer; and the father has dementia. Presently, they are both in an old age home; and each have their own tiny bit of a room. Very very depressing. The people there, are just "waiting to die"; and they are lined up in wheelchairs by the elevator, hoping that a family member or friend, who cares enough, will come and see them; and / or take them out of "prison".
The people have been relegated to tears....ie Alan's Dad even. (today, he was begging to go out) And, in his day, he had such a strong charismatic personality. Perhaps, he comes by it naturally - he is a tough old Scot.

They both came for lunch. Normally, my beloved Alan does the cooking. However, I "whipped" up (surprised the heck out of him! LOL!) a "gourmet" lunch for his parents. Alan and I had tuna fish sandwiches; as the shrimp was only enough for 2 people. They LOVED being "out" and being "looked after"; as if they MATTERED. They were most appreciative; as were we, of their company.

We all raised our wine glasses and thanked Him for this wonderful gift. I have always loved white doves; and I am so glad I found this photo image of a white dove, which symbolizes PEACE. Also, we have a gorgeous slate stone fireplace, and a high skylight; so it was all the more meaningful.

It was a most memorable day for us; and Alan and his Dad were "kibitzing" and "tidbitzing."

Now, maybe you have all been waiting for a tidbit? or you can perhaps guess the tidbit?

Tidbit - Life is TOO short. Alan's Dad has had time to reflect about his life; and his treatment towards others - namely, his son; who was / is one of his biggest allies. He wept in our presence today. Hmmmmmm. He was so amazed that we extended a genuine welcome to him; because he was not sure what type of a reception he would receive from his son. Historically, it was a great moment for the 4 of us. One "old tough Scot" and one "young tough Scot" acknowledging each other; and, a meeting of the minds.

To expand on "life is too short". That is just it - plain and simple. Communicate, share, and spend time with your loved ones before they "depart". Do NOT leave things until the very end; or when it is too late. Alas, when this happens, it is the sadness of the ones left behind, that is felt. You can not regain, what is lost. I guess the expression, "You never know what you have lost, until it is gone"; is very true.

Another tidbit - Work on building, or re-establishing "real" relationships with your parents and family. I wish my parents were still alive today. I miss them - hugely. My Mum adored Alan; and he, her. I know if my Dad were still with us, he and Alan would be camarades. Someday, I will blog about "Our Answer to Prayer". I feel that my Dad, played a tidbit of a part, in Alan's and my meeting of one another.

Alan and I feel my parents are "here in spirit" with us. However, we have moved, into what was their home; and we sense they are happy with our choice. We have lovingly restored "our" place; and it exudes a warmth, and a special welcome to all those who enter here. We still have bits of tids of renovations to finish; however, we will appreciate when it is completed, all the more!

Alan and I are going to see and uplift his parents as much as we can. We just wish that we could have seen more of them these past 4 years. However, what is past, is "spilt milk".

Another tidbit - Let go of yesterday, tomorrow is promised to no one; it is TODAY, that matters the most! Live it; take ownership of each day; living one day at a time. It works!

With that, am going to say a hearty "Good Night" to you all. Will blogtrip about Mexico, before too long!

There is No Place Like Home!

Ola! Ola!

We are back - safe and sound! Returned in the tiddy bitty hours of the am! So nice to be home!

Will tidblog in a bit! We LOVED Zihuatanejo! We are going to learn how to speak Spanish; in bits of tids over the years! The language is so very beautiful; as are the people! Have met and linked in with some wonderful Mexican amigos. They, and us, will enjoy a life long friendship! Bene! Bene!

First Day of Spring - March 21st!

March 21st here we come! First day of Spring!

We are leaving in the wee hours of the 21st. Our alarm clock will go off at 3:15 am; plus we will receive a phone call from the "gatehouse" at 3:30 am; and the taxi will be here at 4:15 am.

Am FINALLY packed! Takes time to try things on, then iron them; even if they become creased in the suitcase; at least I know they started off well. Then to pack things in "ziploc bags" - actually worked out for the best; as in "organized!" LOL!

Alan just poured me a glass of champagne; I think I will enjoy this one glass! Skal!

Tidbit - Never put off, what you can do today. I was going to blog after midnight to have the date as March 21st, to welcome the first day of Spring! However, I may need all the spare time possible to do the last minute tids of bits. And, I did so want to bit tid with you before we left. We will be back on April 2nd.

The 2 photos that you can see with this blog, are from Stacey! That is their garden shed; that they BUILT! Such a dear tid bit of a white shed, with window boxes and bright yellow flowers! The other picture is the pergola, that their neighbours have; and they are in the process now, of building one very similar to that structure. I know that the pergola, now under construction, will look totally awesome! I look forward to seeing the completed photos of this "work of garden art!" Thank you, Stacey, for sharing this with us; very much appreciated! Please feel free to comment,or better yet, add to the history of the shed and pergola, if you wish! I think you can reply by "hitting" other or anonymous; and that will allow you to make a comment.

Tidbit - Perhaps this has inspired a bit of creative tid in the gardeners out there! I do not say I am a gardener; but I have an appreciation for flowers! This garden scene looks soooooooo peaceful!

Spring is just one more "sleep" away! So, is our vacation!

Spring is just one more "sleep" away!! So, is our vacation! Believe it or not, there are quite a few tids of bits to do! When we return, we may well be ready for another vacation! Perhaps more so! LOL! I did a "trial run" last night! Set the alarm for 3:15 am. It worked! I was awake anyway; like a bitty tiddy kidlet; raring to go!

Tidbit - Whenever you are fortunate enough to have a holiday, enjoy it to the fullest! Life only goes around once!

I will miss bitty tiddying to, and with you all for approx 11 days. Perhaps you will enjoy a bit of a tid rest from me!

Somehow, I do not think I will be "blogging" from Mexico; as we will be "incognito." Sun glasses and hats! (and suntan lotion / block!) Packing tiddy bitty stuff. Another tidbit, pack light! Now, if I can only follow my own tidbit advice! LOL!

Tidbit invaluable! - Pack EVERYTHING in your suitcase, not in your carry on bag. Pack all liquids in ziplog bags. ie. Hair and skin care products,toothpaste, sun tan lotions, etc. With the constant threat(s) of explosives, and types of explosive carrying methods, the security is more tight than ever!
It is an inconvenience, but vitally necessary.

Reminds me of a time, back in 1985, on route to Europe. Our plane was delayed for several hours in our airport. Finally we were disembarked; there was a "bomb" on the plane! Well, you can imagine! I was prepared not to travel; however, my husband at the time, suggested (and he was right) - our plane will be even safer, than had it not been checked out. We all had to get off very quickly; but CALMLY. We watched from the safety of indoors, whilst ALL luggage was lying in rows on the runway; being thoroughly sniffed by the dog squads, and scrutinized by "the men in black!" Weird scene! The baggage looked like bodies. It turned out it was a false alarm! Needless to say, a bit of a tiddy situation. Champagne (my uncle had a bottle ready for us! I have never forgotten that lovely touch!) was hugely welcomed when we arrived at our final destination. The Air India bombing was at that time as well; hmmmm. Perhaps, this may have been a decoy, or a "trial run"; but not successful - fortunately for us.
I guess I digressed a tid of a bit!

Blinds - How do you OPEN them?

A tid of a bit of question for you?

How do you open your "blinds" in the am? Straight, tilted, or slanted? Of course, it depends where you live. Some areas may not have or permit blinds, others require blinds to be SHUT for privacy at ALL times. Or, perhaps, you just did not have a sound sleep, so you are off and nodding a bit of a tid, when you open your blinds! LOL!

There may be a tidbit here. I personally, like to open our blinds with the slates, straight; so that I can see everything clearly, when I first wake up! When slanted or tilted, I miss appreciating the nature and the life that is around us. ie tree branches, blooming buds, etc. I thought if I were to open the blinds slanted or tilted, at the start of my day, I would not be savouring life to its fullest; even at that time of day. Granted, there are demanding situations when you can not do that; and I can fully appreciate that scenario as well.

However, TIDBIT - when you DO have a choice, go for it! And ENJOY the opening of the blinds! Welcome the beginning of your day! Amazing how, that joyful 'heralding' sets the tids of bits in motion, for the rest of the day. And, "Praise Him In All Things" is always wonderful too!

To be further tiddy bitty, I do not pull the blinds up; where you are totally exposed to an open window. If we lived somewhere where that was possible, I would! However, you just make the bitty tiddy best of things! Although, our blinds look awesome when they are open straight! You can see them in the background, of the photo of both Alan and I.

Well, best I continue getting "ready" for our vacation! As we will be away, we will be SHUTTING our blinds, and leaving our alarm on. So, "shutting" blinds, in this case, is a must!
