Good Morning, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!

It is yet another tid lovely 'Indian Summer' morning; Fall is very definitely on route; as felt by the bit crisp temperatures in the mornings and during the night.

We ended up watching two movies last night (from our cozy and warm bed); one was 'The Bucanneer', and the later one, was 'Solomon and Sheba'. Yul Brynner (was a wonderful actor) starred in both films; and he looked quite different when he had a full head of hair! But then, that goes for any of us! LOL!

The first movie, 'The Bucanneer' was about a Caribbean pirate (joined the United States in defending New Orleans, Louisianna, from the British) who was smitten by a beautiful woman; and he was influenced to become 'honourable' as he belonged to no country; as the seas had been his only home. He believed in the American Constitution; and volunteered himself in the fight to represent the United States. Thus, when Yul gave his word, he kept it (even when some others (the 'elite') he made a pact with, did not honour their word). General Andrew Jackson (Charleton Heston) kept his word with the pirate, to give him and his men a full pardon, once they supplied the much needed ammunition (gun powder and muskets)and men to defeat the British Red Coats. What I appreciated, was a man of his word and integrity; and eventhough his profession was that of a pirate, he had shining qualities that put some of the 'elite' to shame.

The second movie (which ended at 2:00 am!), 'Solomon and Sheba', was excellent; and at the end of the day, Sheba changed her FAITH to Him. The Israelites defeated the Egyptians by their blinding and glaring shields, as they stood still on the hilltops. 'He IS the Way, the Truth, and the Light'.

Tidbit - Keep your focus on Him; as He always Prevails.

Be calmly confident

Good Morning, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!

And, indeed, it is a good morning here! So much to be thankful for! The tid lush trees outside our bedroom window are still a vivid green, along with our pink, red, and white thriving geraniums in our bit balconey planters! Today's morning sunshine is glorious; and there is a magnificent glow on all the trees; particularly the ones that are 'with Autumn'.

Alan brought me my coffee in bed; and I am most appreciative of all our Blessings. I said my Prayers in the early morning quietness; and you do feel so much better when you leave everything to Him and simply ask Him to Provide Solutions. We have some challenges (but then, who doesn't it?); and we are 'waiting' with anticipation and joy; KNOWING that He will step in at the right time. Also, Pray for both your friends and your foes; for Him to 'touch their hearts'; so that they might enjoy a better life.

I have been reflecting (for some time) upon what is happening throughout the world; and have just started to read 'Revelation Unveiled' by Tim LaHaye. It is a book telling of the start of the 'End Times'; when wars, rumours of wars, political confusion / unrest, weather disruptions (earthquakes, volcanic activity) etc. start happening very quickly. Hmmmmmm. And now, with what is going on in the United States; interesting. Our country (Canada) is affected, but we are 'bystanders', in the sense that we can 'hang tough' and NOT panic. Basically we should 'keep our cool' and not give in to the Fear that is going around - be it with the oil and gas scenarios, real estate, mortgage companies, the works.

Tidbit - He says, 'Fear Not, For I Have Overcome the World'. I think during these times of trials and tribulations for us all, we need to have the FAITH, the size of a mustard seed. 'When you have the FAITH, the size of a mustard seed, you can move mountains'. I believe that to be so.

Bittid - Everyone should 'keep their cool' and THANK Him for their Blessings, and 'Praise Him In ALL Things' each and every day. I know that this is repetitive; however, it is the ONLY and BEST way to keep a calm, throughout all these turbulent moments.

Hope this has given you, a bit of tid hope to have a confident calm. Just turn to Him for Help, Guidance; and joyfully and patiently await His Solutions for you.

I love the 2 photo images of both the Mustard Seed(s) and Mustard Tree. Do you know that ONE seed produces such a majestic tree? Wow! Is all I can say!

We have a full day ahead of us; however, if there is more tid of a bit to share, I will, later in the day.

Thanksgiving

Good Afternoon, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!

My apologies! I did not have even a bittid of an opportunity to write a tidbit before we left for Pasley on Friday afternoon. The rest of Thursday and Friday morning were 'spoken for'. However, am back, as we returned this morning. We were up early for the boat 'pick up' at 8:00 am, to be on time for the 9:30 am ferry, and we were home by 10:30 am; with no rush hour traffic to contend with! We have since unpacked, and appreciating our washer and dryer re: the laundrey. LOL!

The 'Indian Summer' weather is absolutely gorgeous today! Ran into our 85 year young neighbour doing her gardening; and she very definitely is 'young at heart!' May we continue to think in that positive mode, when we hit that ripe old tender age! LOL!

The tid time at Pasley was greatly refreshing and our bit batteries are recharged once again! On Saturday and Sunday mornings, it was windy with choppy waves of approx 3 to 5 feet high; and in the afternoon, we enjoyed the gentle warmth of the sunshine and much calmer waters. Fall, however, is definitely in the air! Nonetheless, the sunsets were glorious; as were our 'creative' meals! For some tidbitz reason, our repas always taste better there; as well as having the best sleeps! We went for walks, and just literally 'chilled out'. We are going back this coming Friday afternoon; and all being well, we may stay a bittidz longer - ie til Tuesday ish. It depends how much we can accomplish when we drive 'up country' for our business.

Alan's knee was bothering him (the doctor did various gymnastic 'cart wheel' movements with his knee); so it was bittidically stiff and sore. Plus my brother suggested to leave the job of completing the turquoise primer, til the Spring; so perhaps Alan's discomfort was a 'Blessing in Disguise'. We are hopeful by next weekend, that Alan can do the other tidbitical tasks, he had planned to do this past weekend.

Tidbit - Take time to reflect on Him and Praise Him In ALL Things.

Bittid - Be joyful for each and every day!

The above Pasley photo (with Alan in it) was taken in the first part of August /08, and it shows the new beautiful deck ( built by my son and his friend) for the two older cabins. The bench seats have since been added (by my brother's brother-in-law) and will be finished by the end of this month; so I will have a picture of 'the whole 9 yards' at a later Fall date. We will be spending the Thanksgiving holiday up there; and apart from celebrating this wonderful occasion, we feel that each and every day is like a special ' Thanksgiving!'

It is now afternoon! I just received this wonderful song from a good friend of mine; and here is an appreciative thank you to him! Thought this happy song might catch your ears and you might wish to pass it along to others! It picks up your tid spirits a bit; as well as your feet! LOL!

Since I last wrote (earlier today), we have been working through various bittidz projects. We can now see the fruition of our labours (His); as in the 'light at the end of the tunnel'; eventhough, things have taken a tidbitz of time.

Good Morning, and a Good Morning it is!

Good Morning, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!

It is a gorgeous sunfilled morning! Already took our Blue out for his 'constitution'; and am presently enjoying a large cup of freshly brewed coffee and writing my blog.

Am still enjoying these wonderful silver fish earrings (you can refer to yesterday's post about them, if you wish); and in the next little bit, I will be packing again for Pasley, as we leave tomorrow afternoon and return home Sunday or Monday. The forecast is for sunshine; which means that Alan can properly continue with the turquoise trim as mentioned in the September 10th blog.

Also, I hope the group of ladies come by again; they were such fun; and if I lived on the island where they are from, I would be a keen and regular participant with them! What a great way to enjoy exercise and to explore the allure of all the tid islands! We have given them a standing invitation; to pop in for coffee or whatever is going (creative lunch!); and if we are not there, then come ashore and rest; plus the outhouse privy is accessible should they wish. (I just suggested though, that they bring their own 'T.P' LOL!) We have also been invited to visit a couple of the ladies; one in particular, with whom I clicked intstantly with! She was also closer to my age; but age is only a number and it is how you feel! I just 'celebrated' my birthday and I am thankful for all my / our Blessings! I believe there are NO coincidences; so when this large 'Hawaiian' outrigger canoe landed upon our shore, it was, indeed, a wonderful gift! We enjoy meeting new people; as well as appreciating our good friends and family.

Tidbit - To help you enjoy a happier day, 'talk' (literally!) to Him and / or say your Prayers at the beginning of the day! Thanking Him and being joyfully confident of the good things that are coming your way! I had a wonderful bath this am; and I find that if you have a quiet spot to share your thoughts and concerns with Him, He is ALWAYS there for you. He is your Best Friend and Confidant; and by asking Him for His Guidance, it is amazing to see what unfolds each and every day for you. It is great to have good friends to ask their input etc; however, if you approach Him first and foremost, He gives you the best advice! And, things become a lot simpler! Am sure some of you know of what I write! Actually, I 'talk' to Him throughout the day and then say our Prayers of Thanks again at night; which ensures a good solid sleep. Plus the 'Patience' I was referring to, in yesterday's post; along with a sound sleep, is vital in making the right choices and / or decisions.

Bittid - Appreciate each and every day and have a joyful heart! Keeps you 'young at heart' too!

Also, today is September 11th; and I believe we have all been imprinted forever, with discerning awareness for this particular day, when so many lives were needlessly and horrifically lost. May God Bless all their Souls; both of the perished, (and their families), and the survivors. However, humane and financial steps have been exercised to repair the global loss, and move life forward as best as possible. If this is of any solace, He is always there to Comfort you; you just need to genuinely invite Him into your heart; ask Him to carry all your burdens and sorrows, and He will uplift you. One day at a time; and each day that passes, becomes a little easier to bear for those that are sad, downtrodden, angry, or whatever emotions that transpire.

Have to go for now; however, may write a tid in a later bit today; when there is a bit of a tid to write! I love the above photo image; such a cheerful morning portrayal! Cheers, with a cup of coffee!

Enjoying the moment

Good Evening, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!

Whew! It has been a full day (which is good), as we have had a tidbitz of appointments and we are thankful to be home! It has been a beautiful sunny summer / fall day; and my Dad's old trusty outdoor thermometer, is now showing a pleasant 75 degrees Fahrenheit in the sun.

Alan went to see the highly regarded surgeon / specialist today about his knee; and the appointment was an illuminating one; save for the lack of results from the MRI from last night. Upon the receipt of those results, (takes a week to 10 days), the doctor will be calling Alan back to discuss the next step.

I mentioned that I would share our past bittidz week up at Pasley; and we are looking forward to returning there for this weekend. Am hoping our 'Indian Summer' will continue throughout September. I love the Fall! There is 'something' refreshing about the start of Autumn isn't there?

We were gone for one week; from Sunday to Sunday. The weather, unfortunately, was 'iffy'; very cool temperatures, along with winds and rains. We were most appreciative of our cosy old brick fireplace; that greatly helped with the cooler bit temperatures. Whilst there, we (I should say Alan) captured 14 mice (on Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs nights) with two mouse traps, laced with peanut butter. (Apparently, mice go crazy for peanut butter!) My brother was correct in suggesting where the mice had access (ie under the tid kitchen sink drain pipe); however, Alan was able to plug the tiny tidbit hole (the size of his baby finger!)with a metal contraption of sorts and duct tape, which replaced the chewed out SOS pad, that had originally been placed there. Should include too, that the mice were wonderful food for the swooping seagulls and a mink family in the bittid beach cove next to ours.

Celebrated my '39th and holding birthday' (LOL!) also; and Alan prepared a simple but wonderfully tasting breakfast brunch (Crisp bacon, fresh farm brown eggs sunny side up, bakery bread toasted by our old fashioned toaster, and my beloved Norwegian Goat Cheese). Mmmmmmm.

I have a dear friend (and she knows who she is!), from whom I purchased an exquisite pair of silver fish earrings. I have had so many compliments on them; and for some reason, I feel an extra tid 'special' when wearing them. It makes me think of Jesus Christ, when he was choosing His Disciples. ie When He went down to the Sea of Galilee and fell upon Peter and the Fishermen, He said, 'Come with Me, and I will make you Fishers of Men'. That is pretty neat, methinks!

Had an interesting experience on Saturday morning! A group of ladies (5) in their 60's / 70's, who were in a large outrigger canoe (holds 6) landed on our beach to rest. Apparently, they belong to a club on a nearby island (part of the Mainland) that they live on; and for $100.00 per year, they can enjoy canoeing around the various islands, whenever they wish. There are different sizes of these types of 'Hawaian' outrigger canoes; that can hold 2, 4, or 6 people; and as long as there is the 'steerer', who knows what to do, it is 'smooth sailing'. They get together quite regularly and then enjoy a nice bit of lunch afterwards. Sounds like a lot of fun to me!

Alan was able to put a bittid of the turqoise primer trim on the windows and doors, after he sanded and filled in the various defects. This weekend, he is hoping to complete the rest of the priming etc; and on the following weekend, he will apply the first coat. He is concentrating on the front part of both buildings; and will attend to the sides and back in the Spring; as the fronts are exposed to the ocean, wind, sun etc. So, this will be an extra tidbit of a sealer and protective coat for the front of both cabins.

During all the while, (and we are not the only ones; perhaps some of you), have had some ongoing challenges and we are Waiting and Relying upon Him to Provide the Solutions. I am currently reading an excellent book, written by Joyce Meyer ('Woman to Woman') and she is sharing that she "wants us to be encouraged; and that we believers are MORE THAN CONQUERORS and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us". 'More than Conquerors means that before the trouble ever starts, we already know who wins'.

Tidbit - Being joyful and patient 'in the journey; can be hard to do at times (even when on holidays, other matters can be pressing or stressful); simply step back and put your FAITH in Him; AND Praise Him in ALL Things. It is amazing the 'inner' calm and peace you receive, and you KNOW that He will not let you down; as He has a good and even better Plan for you, more than you had ever imagined!

Bittid - Another quote from Joyce's book - "It is important to realize that patience is not only an ability to wait, but also how we act while we're waiting. We are encouraged to enter into patient waiting - not just waiting but 'Patient waiting'". "Patience is required to see the fulfillment of God's promises'.

Personally, I recommend her book; very insightfully awesome! Have to go now to 'create' our dinner; actually we will be feasting on some wonderful 'leftovers!' from two nights ago!

Appreciate the Little Things

Good Afternoon, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!

We are back; at least for the time being! We returned home on Sunday evening; and yesterday was a bit of a blur! Went non stop from early morning to about 4:30 pm, getting 'caught up' with things, until a dear friend popped in. It was the right timing! She happened to bring a bottle of champagne (chilled!) for me, to celebrate my recent birthday! It was a nice tid touch; and was greatly appreciated and enjoyed by us. She left around 7:00 pm. Had a roast (covered with fresh basil and rosemary from our bittid patio garden)cooking and it provided such a wonderful smell throughout our house! The roast was on sale; so with a tidbit of seasonings, it was delicious; along with roasted baby potatoes, a Caesar Salad, and a glass of our South African Red Wine. International evening again! Then we fell into our bed, like tired little puppies; and watched a James Bond Movie.

Just reread my last post (August 31st); and basically what I wrote, was what I learned from those three wonderful people. I do not think I can add anymore to their messages; save that check them out and 'check Him in!'

Has been a full day thus far; and we are about to head out for an appointment; about an hour's drive away. We have a few more committments this afternoon; before going to the hospital where Alan finally is getting an MRI for his knee; the one that was injured when he fell through a piece of rotting deck on Pasley last summer - Aug 27th, to be exact!

Tidbit - Appreciate the little things; and Praise Him in ALL Things.

Bittid - Have the FAITH that He always Provides; and as Robert Schuller said (see my post of Aug 31st, if you wish)'When you are down to nothing, He is up to something for you!' It is about having and taking the courageous 'Leap of Faith' in Him.

Have to go for a tid of a bit now. Hopefully will write later today and share a bit of tid re: our past week up at Pasley.
