Good Evening, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!
Woke up to a beautiful sunny day, blue skies, cool temperatures. There was a heavy wind storm during the wee bit hours of the morning; and many branches and tid pieces of our garden furniture, were strewn and scattered about our patio. However, we were most appreciative for the bright sunshine today!
We have been in an ongoing spiritual 'battle' and 'the notch' has been turned up a bit more by those, who do not wish us to succeed. Alan and I believe that the closer one is to achieving their goals, the more 'out of left field stuff' occurs. Perhaps some of you have experienced those 'moments' as well!
This morning, we received mail from Joyce Meyer, of 'Enjoying Everyday Life' Ministries; and her words of wisdom are most timely! Basically her message is 'Become Dangerous to the Kingdom of Darkness'. To quote from her wonderful encouraging letter, "The apostle Paul shows us how to fight in 2 Corinthians 10:3,4: For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish stronghold (NIV)". That gem of bittid today, has given both Alan and I a tidbit more of Courage.
Also, Joyce's enlightening words, "He created you to overcome...even during the most difficult seasons. And it is in these seasons of difficulty that God wants us to fight hard and reject defeat!" Right on! Thank you Joyce! For those of you who wish to learn more, here is her website: www.joycemeyer.org which will give you all sorts of wonderful resources.
When I share my blogs, I hope it is of encouragement to all who read my daily posts; however when I write, I generally feel better. We are also 'in the midst of a storm' and there are 'tests' happening at the same time. We are shaking our heads at some of the 'stuff'; and yet we know it to be REAL; as in a spiritual 'battle'. However, perhaps the lesson for Alan and I, and others, IS to Take the Leap of Faith in Him; and KNOW that He has Overcome the World! To take a confident stand, a peaceful joy and have a calm comfort that He has already WON! And that, we should FEAR NOT!
So today, we have been in an 're evaluating mode, reassessing our situation, reflecting, and reaffirming our FAITH in Him to Provide! Joyce's uplifting letter arrived right just at the right tidbit moment; and she suggested to put on every piece of God's armor.
Please feel free to refer to my bittid post of May 25/07. Also, here is the Armor of God.
"Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins
with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be
able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one. And take the
helmut of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God".
(Ephesians 6: 14-17)
We are having our bittidz challenges (but then, who isn't?) and I must write, certain banks have been most disappointing; and if we were vastly wealthy, I would say 'goodbye' to the banks. Like 'rules' are necessary; however, they should be 'reasonable'. ie. Everyone now, is so fearful of making a mistake, that 'they' have chosen to do nothing, unless you are a '24 karat gold' customer. 'They' say they are here to help; 'well' ARE 'they?' (You can refer to my tidbit post of June 13/07 if you wish re: 'Well' being a rather deep subject).
With the current financial global crisis, affecting us all, it would appear that the banks are creating more of a hindrance than a helping hand; particularly to those with small businesses, worthy of longterm success. Can any of you relate? I am sure some of you can! 'They' now are so fearful for 'their' own survival mode tidbitz, that 'they' are actually contributing to making things worse! But then, 'they' may not appear to see it that way; because of 'their' bittidz insular fears of 'doom and gloom' etc. Should include, that this is not stemming from the everyday bank employees, it is the bit 'rules and regulations' that have been created, 'in the system', from 'on high'; thus 'fear' trickles down through the bank ranks and thus nothing takes place. 'Frozen', if you will.
Plus, due to the GREED of CEO's in various Mortgage / Investment / Brokerage Companies (think you are aware of the companies, in the United States), there is now the present financial dilema around the world.
However, we are doing our best, taking little tid steps at a time; and the expression: 'The Journey Begins With One Single Step', is the route we are on; with Him Guiding us! He IS the Way, the Truth, and the Light!
Tidbit - Do not allow yourself to be 'swallowed up' or defeated by these turbulent times. Stand up; and Put On the FULL Armor of God! Be bold; not fearful!
Bittid - It is more important than ever too, to 'Praise Him In ALL Things!'
Once again, many thanks to Joyce Meyer for her uplifting thoughts for today and ALWAYS!
God Bless.

Put on the FULL Armor of God!

Happy Birthday 'MoMo'
Good Morning, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!
Today, my Mum, 'MoMo', would have been 91 years of age! Hard to believe I know! There genuinely is not a day or thereabouts, that goes by, that I do not think of her! Interesting, the tidbit expression: 'You do not know what you have lost, until it is gone' - It is a most true bittid.
Also, with Remembrance Day on Nov 11th, this hits pretty close to home. My Mum's various family members gave of their lives, like so many others; so no better time than to Honour and Remember them for their sacrifices they made, for our Freedom! Same with my Dad's family and friends of that vintage; they were relentless in their fight for our Freedom.
The above photo is a picture of my Mum, my daughter, and myself taken in 2004.(You can refer to the tid posts of Nov 12/07 for some bit info if you wish). We have not changed much; save that my Mum, our 'MoMo', is no longer here, as she passed away in the summer of 2005. We have twin grandsons, age 2 years, (am a young Grandma!); and methinks, 'MoMo' would be a good name for the little ones to call me. Easy and simple to say; but more importantly, in memory to my Mum, since my children called my Mum, 'MoMo'.
My Mum was a courageous and feisty woman; she had to have been, as she had endured much in her later years. She was diagnosed with terminal cancer of the esophagus in 1998; however it went into remission, until her passing in 2005. Nonetheless, she was not able to swallow; so there was a 'feeding tube' surgically inserted down her throat and out through her stomach. That area of the stomach had a protective cap when not in use. In order for her to be fed, she was linked up to a machine (she called her 'dancing partner'), and the liquid nutrition (Ensure)was given to her via tubes. It took approx 1.5 hr per feeding; and there were 3 feedings per day; followed in between, with an hour approx of flushing / cleaning out the system with water. We would take her, her 'dancing partner', and her caregiver out as much as we could; as the change of scene did wonders for my Mum's spirits. ie Pasley in the summers; she totally LOVED that place! She also had ostereoposis; and her back looked like the 'Hunchback of Notre Dame'; however, she wore larger pieces of clothing; and was able to still look 'chic'.
Have included my Nov 12, 2007 post as an easy reference; because.....
"I had the luxury of sleeping in this am; until 8:45! Mind you, we watched a movie quite late into the night; so the morning arrived quickly! The movie, "Dunkirk" really hit home a message about the struggles, battles, and sacrifices, made during the Second World War. Very timely, re: November 11, Rememberance Day.
There is a huge rain and wind storm swirling all around us. The winds are fierce; branches falling everywhere; just hope our tid cottage is still standing! Last year in November, the winds took down several trees; and "smushed" our bit sleeping cabin.
Wanted to remember my Mum's birthday; today if she were on earth, she would have been 90 years young!!! She had quite the life; and saw and lived through much. So, Mum, "Happy Birthday" - There is not a day that passes, that I do not think of you. Strange how you remember those who have gone, more so, had they still been living. Or with me, anyway. I did spend a lot of time with my Mum; so fortunately, I have happy memories of her!
Tidbit - You never know what you have lost, until it is gone from you. If you can, remember the loved ones in your lives, that are STILL alive. Make a genuine effort to restore broken relationships; before it is too late; because then, there will be a lament; on your part.
Bittid - Keeping a 'door open' is always best; however, there is the expression: "You can take a horse to water; but you can't make it drink". So very true!
To those who wish to have memories without a tragic lament, enjoy your loved ones while they are still living. Appreciate them now, because, when they are gone, they are gone.
The above photo is of my Mum, my daughter, and yours truly. Three generations!!!"
In closing, just want to reiterate 'Happy Birthday MoMo'; and at the appropriate tid time a bit later, will raise a glass of champagne to Mum (and Dad) and say 'Skal' and 'Absent Friends'. 'Absent Friends' is an old Norwegian custom; whereby you drink to, or toast someone who is elsewhere (could be dead or just not present at the time, that you are thinking about). 'Skal' means 'Cheers'. Am adding, "Thanks again, MoMo, for being my Mum!"
May be back a bittidz later today, if there is some extra special tidbitz to share with you.
God Bless.

Remembrance Day

Good Afternoon, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world.
Today is Remembrance Day. (I apologize for my spelling error of 'Remembrance', in my earlier posts). Earlier today, we had the 'Moment of Silence' and Prayer, to honour all those who died, in the Name of Freedom, for us all. It has been a quiet and reflective day thus far; and as I sat (and will sit again, after this blog) in front of our cosy (friendly) fire, appreciating 'Lest We Forget'.
This also brings to mind, the magnificent poem, 'In Flanders Fields', that we memorized as children in school. It is a most miserable day outdoors; however, the pouring rain has not prevented the many Veterans and their families, from attending and participating in the Remembrance Outdoor Services. Also, I wrote a bittidz in yesterday's post, if you wish to refer to that tidbitz. There appears to be a quiet hush both indoors and outdoors; a very Special day, indeed, to REMEMBER and COMMEMORATE throughout the world.
The next 3 paragraphs and the touching poem, I sourced from the online, 'Wikipedia' (the free Encylopedia; and they are wonderful with providing excellent data). I feel compelled to share some of their invaluable info with you; as well as for those, who do not know the tid origin of the heartfelt poem, 'In Flanders Fields'. Also for those, who have not had the bit opportunity and / or even a genuine understanding of what Remembrance Day REALLY means.
"A small portion of In Flanders Fields appeared alongside McCrae's portrait on a Canadian stamp of 1968, issued to commemorate a half-century since his death.
Wreaths of artificial poppies used as a symbol of remembrance
Roll of Honour of Clan McRae's dead of the First World War at Eilean Donan castle. In Flanders Fields features prominently."In Flanders Fields" is one of the most famous poems written during the First World War, and has been called "the most popular poem" produced during that period. It is written in the form of a French rondeau. Canadian physician and Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae wrote it on May 3, 1915, after he witnessed the death of his friend, Lieutenant Alexis Helmer, the day before. The poem was first published on December 8, that year in Punch magazine.
The poppies referred to in the poem grew in profusion in Flanders where war casualties had been buried and thus became a symbol of Remembrance Day. The poem is part of Remembrance Day solemnities in Allied countries which contributed troops to the First World War, particularly in countries of the British Empire that did so.
The poem "In Flanders Fields" was written upon a scrap of paper upon the back of Colonel Lawrence Moore Cosgrave, during a lull in the bombings (as recited to his grandson)".
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
— Lt.-Col. John McCrae
Tidbit - Give thanks and be appreciative for all those that have gone on before you, and have given of their lives for your Freedom. (Jesus Christ comes to my thoughts as well!)
Bittid - Have an Attitude of Gratitude! Be thankful for ALL of your Blessings and your life. 'Praise Him In ALL Things', each and every day!
As a closing bittid, I love and appreciate the powerful significance of wearing the Red Poppy, with its dear tidbit meaningful message to us all! 'LEST WE FORGET'.
Amen, Thank you, and God Bless.

Remember in Rememberance!

Remember in Rememberance!
The first 3 tid paragraphs (including the Tidbit and Bittid) are from my post of November 11, 2007; and eventhough there are a few different tidbitz details, I wanted to share it again. I thought I would help 'sow the seed' of remembering and honouring Rememberance Day, which is tomorrow, Nov 11, 2008; as well as reflecting upon the changing times.
Also, if you wish, you can refer to yesterday's post and other posts Nov 18, 2007 & Nov 25, 2007 etc for more info about Dr. Robert Schuller - 'Hour of Power'; Joyce Meyer - 'Enjoying Everyday Life', and Charles Price - 'Living Truth'.
"That covers so many subjects; and today, November 11th, is a day to do just that! In that, it is both reflective, and being thankful for what we have been given; and at the cost of so many lives. Our freedom. And we also 'Praise Him in All Things'.
Tidbit - For those of you who wish to learn more about Him (Jesus Christ), see if you can hear or listen to today's message, on the Vision Channel (Ch 105); ie. "Hour of Prayer" (Robert Schuller), Joyce Meyer, then Charles Price. You can access them by computer; or, if you are not near a computer, possibly via a radio broadcast or T.V. I enjoyed my reflective and quiet time this am. It is so true that He can make the ordinary into the extraordinary. ie the Miracle of the Water being changed into Wine. We are like the water; but it is Him who provides the rest.
Bittid - Open your hearts; and with Him, all things ARE possible. Just have the FAITH in Him. That is where it is at. And today, is certainly a most memorable one, as well; 'Lest We Forget'"
Perhaps because of what is going on around the globe today, Rememberance Day holds an even more significant meaning for me this year. We have that much more, to be thankful for; and it is, indeed, about FREEDOM. The unselfish and courageous acts of all those, who gave of their lives to make the world a better place for us all. Our parents, grandparents, great grandparents, other family relatives, and so forth, did not have the opportunities that we all enjoy so readily in today's world. In some respects, their lives were a lot simpler; and I feel we should get back to the
simple bit 'basics' and be sppreciative for ALL our Blessings and take nothing for granted.
Tidbit - Be genuinely grateful for each and every day! ie Freedom! Wear your Poppy on your left lapel proudly! I have noticed many more people wearing the Poppy this year; people of all ages, both 'young and old'. It is a very touching bittidz to observe!
Bittid - Cherish your good friends and family; and let them know they are 'special' to you. 'A little praise goes a long way!'
Love the awesome Biblical story about the Miracle of the Water being changed into Wine! Writing of wine, I am about to enjoy a glass of our South African Red wine (Two Oceans) and say a Norwegian toast to, 'Absent Friends'. I think it is a very appropriate toast to all those who are no longer here and / or who have given of their lives for our freedom.
Good Night and God Bless, til tomorrow.
Oysters, anyone?

Good Morning, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!
Usettled weather! Was pouring with rain earlier, now hurried bursts of blue skies, along with fast moving dark grey clouds, with a tid hint of sunshine. Writing of unsettled, our puppy was up a few times last night; Alan and I each took a turn with him. Methinks that the changing of the clock, an hour back, is still a bit of an upset to his usual daily and nightly routine.
Also, our phone rang a few times; so extra early wake up calls it would so appear! Inasmuch too, that tomorrow is November 11th, Rememberance Day; so those that are working today, perhaps are making the most of their time.
Also, writing of unsettled, I now remember the name of the movie. 'Reign Over Me', we watched the other evening (You can refer to my post of Nov 8th, if you wish), with Adam Sandler, who was excellent, in portraying a grieving man, who had tragically lost his wife, 3 daughters, and a dog in one of the planes of 911. He was not able to adjust to the new reality; and chose instead, to hide his loss by 'blocking' everything and everybody out. In a tidbitz, 'losing himself'. (I was thinking throughout the movie, to just 'call upon Him' for His Salvation and Help!). It turns out that an old college roommate (of 2 years, and a fellow dentist) ran into him on the sreet; and basically he encouraged this devasted man to slowly return to the world of the living. Should mention too, that the practising dentist had a beautiful family; and yet he felt 'stymied' or at a loss, to enjoy a good communicative rapoire with them. In a bittidz, both men helped each other with their challenges. I thought it was a very touching movie; well worth seeing.
Tidbit - Have Compassion for others; particularly during these times of 'trials and tribulations', and offer them a tidbits of encouragement and uplift.
Bittid - Be grateful for ALL your Blessings, each and every day. Tomorrow is Rememberance Day; we have so much to be Thankful for! Perhaps your own bittids of problems may be diminished somewhat, when you have Empathy for the plights of others. Also, when you go through your struggles, and you courageously Endure, along with your 'Leap of Faith' in Him, to Guide you through the 'storm', you become stronger and more appreciative of all that is around you.
Love the above joyful photo image, that I have enjoyed in various posts!(approx mid Mar/08 onwards; reminds me of a very dear friend, who passed away). We have that particular plate; and I smile and laugh everytime I daily pass by it! His jovial expression and amusing antics of him slurping his oyster is priceless!
May be back a bittid later today! Hope you are enjoying a GOOD tidbit start to the week! If not, Ask Him to 'Carry your Burdens'; He always DOES.
God Bless.

'Seek and Ye Shall Find' - More vital than ever!

Good Afternoon, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!
This bit of a day has been moving slowly, as well as a tid too quickly, if that makes any sense!
Alan did not have a sound slumber last night; his ears are still 'plugged' and his leg (knee) is still very painful; which interfered with his usual restful sleep. I was up early; and thought Alan deserved the 'sleep in'; and he woke up approx 11:15 am! Meanwhile, I had taken our 'pup' out for his constitution, and put on the pot of coffee, getting 'ready' to watch the Vision Channel from 8:30 am to 11:00 am!
In recent blogs (Oct 28th & Nov 2nd and earlier posts) I have made mention of, 'Hour of Power' (the Schullers), 'Enjoying Everyday Life' (Joyce Meyer), and 'Living Truth' (Charles Price), their inspiring messages get right to the heart of things! I genuinely recommend that you 'tune in' to them for the best info; thus doing your 'due diligence! I can share a tidbit or two; however, these International Bible Teachers, are incredible Messengers in His Service!
'Hour of Power' - Dr. Robert Schuller Snr enthusiastically shares 'Tough times never last, but tough people do!' What positive tidbitz encouragement; particularly during these tough times! ie. His joyful thoughts about us all having a 'Passion, a Purpose, a Faith, and to have Trust in Following Jesus Christ!' Robert Schuller had a couple of amazing Guests. ie Josh Hamilton, an MLB All-Star of the Texas Rangers; and he related his tough story; and when he accepted Jesus Christ, how his life changed for the better! Everything that was lost, was restored, because he totally 'surrrendered' to Him. (He wrote a wonderful bittid book, 'Beyond Belief'). Also, Dr. Joyce Jones, a Professor of Music and Organistry in Texas; and how she learned to play the organ with her feet, after an 'accident' with her left hand / wrist. She is so thankful for the Blessing (the 'accident') He bestowed upon her; and she is one of the world's renown organists. She was just outstanding on the organ; a pleasure to watch and to hear!
Here is some further bittidz! www.hourofpower.org or telephone no - 1-800-549-6177, for uplifting books etc.
'Enjoying Everyday Life' - Joyce Meyer's basic message was - Do not Sow Seeds of the Flesh, instead Sow Seeds of God. That there are tid times, when you just have to ignore the little 'demons' on your shoulders, who are constantly badgering you with: 'What are you going to do?' 'What are you going to do?'. It is best to say 'I am not doing anything, until He tells me what to do'; or powerful words to that affect. We need to surrender to His Will and to believe that God is GOOD. If we 'Sow Seeds of the Flesh', we will have 'Ruin, Decay, and Destruction'; however, if we 'Sow Seeds of God' (that is, all about His Glory), we will be given the Life of the Spirit (Eternal Life). Joyce also shared that 'God tests us, and it is better to take a chance and follow Him at ALL costs; rather than playing it safe'. In other words you have to step out, from within. Would like to give you some more tidbits! www.joycemeyer.org or telephone no. - 1-800-727-9673 for insightful books etc. ie '21 Ways to Finding Peace and Happiness'.
'Living Truth' - Charles Price was excellent, and shared much - ie about Righteousness and Self Righteousness; Hypocrisy and 'Origin'. Whether you aim to GENUINELY Please God, or by elevating yourself 'to look good' (or 'nicey nicey') to impress others etc. The Source or the 'Origin' should be from God; as in, on the inside. I encourage you to also check out his website! - www.livingtruth.com or telephone no. - 1-888-269-6085.
Today (I always relate to their wondrous teachings!) I went away with the bittids I just shared. Also, we are currently in a 'waiting mode'; and I have / am learning to be more 'patient'; and to just simply 'Wait Upon Him' to Provide Solution.
Tidbit - He IS the Way, the Truth, and the Light!
Bittid - When you accept Jesus Christ into your heart, His Holy Spirit NEVER leaves you. Just remember to Rely on Him always (not on your own bit understanding); and to have the perpetual Faith in Him; even during your worst experiences or moments; as He always carries your burdens.
It has been raining non stop til now; and there appears to be a bright glimmer of sunshine, shining through our upstairs loft skylight! It will be dark shortly. Should mention too, that our Camelia Bush that we had transplanted and replanted in the Spring, has now successfully bounced back, brimming forth with some beautiful pink blooms! We think this is great, particularly at this cooler time of year! Also, our colourfully vivid geraniums are still abundantly flourishing! We Thank Him for ALL our Blessings, flowers and ALL!
Have enjoyed the quieter pace today; and as Joyce Meyer says, 'Slow Down'. Right on! I love the above photo image; says much!
If any of you, or others you know, wish to enjoy and appreciate a better daily life, I repeat, please feel free to 'check in' these wonderful people; as they have much to offer to the world!
God Bless.

Appreciation for a Saturday morning!

Good Morning, or whatever is the best greeting to you, in your part of the world!
Saturday morning and thank goodness! We are going to enjoy this weekend at home, and 'putz about' - ie tackling 'stuff' in our overcrowded garage etc! It is a dark rainy day; and yet, a wonderful day to appreciate being home! Particularly during these tid tough times of trials and tribulations. 'No place like home', comes to mind. Plus, Alan, with the help of our spiffy bit meat tenderizer, has marinated two of the Costco steaks (delicious when marinated overnight and well seasoned) for tonight's dinner. It is quite the tidbitz saving when you buy the Costco steaks, chicken, or whatever in a family pack! Went also yesterday to our local grocer in the Safeway, and picked up some romaine lettuce,
red potatoes ( Red potatoes are healthier than the white potatoes re: cholestoral); and that will be a simple, yet good accompaniment to our bittidz repas. Along with a glass or two of the South African (Two Oceans) red vino.
Mentioned in yesteday's Tidbit - "Sometimes there are 'things' you can not demand an 'instant change'; ie as in an 'attitude'. We have encountered various 'attitudes'; and methinks we will just 'step back'; eventhough it is hard to do. Have done everything we can. As the tidbitz expression goes, 'You can take a horse to water, but you can't make it drink'".
Would like to add a tidbit, that we (all of us) should not 'demand'; instead, we (all of us) can Pray for Attitude 'Adjustments' (for all of us) each and every day. 'Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you'. Sometimes, when there appears to be an 'impasse', best to 'let go' and turn it over to Him for His Purpose.
As per yesterday's Bittid - "Regardless of your circumstances, make the bittidz best of it! It is amazing what transpires when you are genuinely joyful! ie Invite Him into your heart; and you will be forever 'changed'; because you do not look at things the same way ever again. Do not be upset for long, if you are criticized, lied about, etc. thus being made the 'scapegoat'; instead Rise above everything, ACT WITH GRACE, and have a thankful and yet humble heart!"
A bittid, Ask Him for 'Understanding' and for His Guidance, and have the Faith that He is your Advocate! 'He IS the Way, the Truth, and the Light'.
Love the above photo image; and if you wish, please refer to my post of October 29th, ie 'Enjoy a Morning Calm' for further tidbitz/ bittidz.
May be back later with some more bittidz / tidbitz. We watched a very inspiring movie last night; however, at the bit moment, can not recall the tid name of it! Maybe I need another cup of coffee! LOL! When the bittid name of the movie comes to me, I will write a tidbit post about it).
Also, am looking forward to watching and hearing 'Hour of Power' (the Schullers), 'Enjoying Everyday Life' (Joyce Meyer), and 'Living Truth' (Charles Price) tommorrow on the T.V. Vision Channel. These Evangelical 'International Bible Teachers' deliver such uplifting messages of genuine encouragement, not only applicable on Sundays, but also Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!! When one walks in Christ, He teaches us to Trust in Him; moment by moment, minute by minute, hour by hour; hence day by day. If one does this, and / or tries to do this with His Help, you will be invigorated; and finally will Thank Him for His Guidance and Directions in Understanding.
God Bless.
